Ok.
Here we have it.
A water shortage looming.?
About 2.5 to 3 billion litres are lost through leaks every day in UK (about 25% of total pumped in the system), water processing waste spewed into our rivers – hardly a Fine goes out and profits still rising for firms… Thames Water leaks 3 times more than the UK average.
There has been improvements since the 90’s when the situation was appalling, bit is it all a bit too much talk far too late?
having ambitious targets at such a late stage of the game seems to now be the trend with all issues like this doesn’t it?
Energy crisis is here now but been on it’s way far before the Ukraine situation…
About a Third of all energy escapes through leaky homes and poor insulation (sw we arrest insulation protesters rather than thanking them for bringing it to our attention and scrap most government schemes).
So how about blaming ourselves and our lack of real investment into efficiency (no leak reduction improvements in real terms since 2000)…..
Let’s just blame the war in Ukraine and the Russians shall we…. It’s a totally separate unrelated issue all this lack of infrastructure investment… look at the roads and state of railways too…..
At least we have loads of shiny new vacant status symbol office buildings in London and other cities to show how well we are doing hey?
Just saying, if that’s still allowed?
